Tallman Mountain State Park (NY)
Tallman Mountain State Park (NY) comprises wooded country on the easterly slope of the Palisades uplands overlooking the Hudson and Piermont Marsh, which lies between the River and the slope. The marsh is part of the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve. There are gentle trails along the shore and up through the woods into Tallman Mt Park in Piermont. There is access to the "pier" a causeway which extends about half a mile out into the river. Also friendly restaurants, shops and galleries.
There are canoe and Kayak rental to paddle on the Hudson and explore the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve and the great reed marshes extending miles south to the foot of the Palisades, Contact Paradise Canoe and Kayak: 15 Paradise Ave. Piermont, NY 10968 Tel. 845 359-0073.
